Been spending a fair amount of time on animal-related jobs this spring. Poor Kodiak -- we think he's lonely now Bonnie and Max are both gone. He keeps escaping the yard during the day when we're at work, looking for a friend. Pretty soon our yard is going to look like a fortress, we keep adding walls and systems to keep him in. We vacilliate between feeling sorry for him and being irritated as hell.
The chickens are growing at an alarming rate. Can't tell yet if Hilda or Everilde is going to be the Top Hen but we have narrowed it down to those two. They're outside now and love it but they're still not interesting in food that doesn't come out of a feed sack yet. Being a new brood mama I have no idea if that's normal or not. Oh well, I suppose it's like raising kids -- They'll do it when they're damn good and ready.
