First-person shooting and first surgeries

The time after Leah's wedding was...different. We headed to Portland and completed a diverse collection of tasks while there.
Travis and Jess drove back to Redmond, to school and work.
Brian spent the weekend gaming with friends.

Kristin, just after surgery (with Mogli)
And on Friday Kristin had surgery on her ACL; me ferrying her around and hovering probably too much.
Saturday B and I met up for the morning, to take part in a fundraising walk for CF. It was the green team, all for Toby and his friends and family. Very fun, down by Oaks Park.

Kristin's boyfriend, Dustin -- his mother's extravagant monkey model

Sunday we headed back to Redmond, Bug in tow so she could have people around to help with her recovery. We had her for more than two weeks while she hobbled around, first in a brace, then on crutches. We loved every minute but she was itching to get home.

Spring -- love is in the air

Think May 1 is May Day, all about flowers and love and spring?
Wrong! It's about love!
May Day is when B's sister Leah got married and the whole (Hole?) fam-damnly showed up to celebrate.

The happy couple

It was a wildly inconvenient date, in the middle of the work week, but we made it happen. We drove up sans Josh (had to stay behind to catch up on school work) but had Jess and picked up Sarah, Trusten and Kristin on the way.
It was a lovely ceremony, a blue bird day on Puget Sound and the sunset service, with all Leah and Michael's kids in attendance, was perfect.

Boogie Nights

A different kind of family ski trip this year, all the way around. First, Leslie attended, even though she doesn't ski. Second, the trip was at Mt. Hood instead of in Washington. Third, the teen who brought a friend this time (Christina) brought one of the opposite sex. Fourth, we stayed in this condo time forgot, full of '70s kitsch.

Oh, and lastly? Kristin took a ride down the ski hill in a ski patrol toboggan, victim of a little spill that resulted in a torn ACL. Not boring, this trip.

Funny Easter this year. Jess and I colored some eggs but she was gone by the weekend so we figured we'd be without kids  and not celebrate the holiday in any way.  Then Kristin showed up Saturday as a surprise and we had a fine old time -- if unusual. We had an egg hunt in the yard, taking turns hiding each others' stash of eggs. It was fun, a grownup Easter, but with candy!
