500 square feet of love
Well, it is done. All of our belongings, 500 square feet of it (and 10 feet tall), has been hauled to Portland, stuffed into a storage unit (s) and we are hunkered down in a friend's house in St. Johns.
And this house, barring any unforeseen circumstances, will be our new home sometime in the next month. It's hard to believe after three long months of packing, dejunking, long discussions about jobs, houses, communities and the future, that we are nearly there.
The house is in SE Portland, a foreclosure with what appears so far to be cosmetic needs only. It is a Craftsman, 102 years old and although a modest bungalow we are both tickled to think we may be living in an historic home.
Now, anyway. Ask us again down the road once we start the fixes and upgrades.
