Our first winter (and spring and summer...and fall) here was not real Portland weather. Then winter arrived and all bets were off. REAL Portland weather returned. It began to rain, and rain, and rain. When that was done, it rained some more. Our gutters overflowed and flooded our basement. My 30-minute commute took an hour because not only do people freak out when it snows, they also lose it when it rains.
